THERE WERE LIGHTS
A New Musical
By Albert Guerzon

THERE WERE LIGHTS follows three people — a middle-aged performer and lapsed Christian, a deeply religious and elderly cemetery caretaker, and a young boy with a hungry curiosity for the afterlife. Together, they face their collective grief in the wake of the pandemic and learn to celebrate both their found community and the diversity of their beliefs. Join us for Leviathan Lab and CollaborAzian's intimate staged reading of this haunting and heartfelt new dance musical!
Presented, in part, with generous support from the 2024-25 NYS AAPI Community Development Fund, administered by the Coalition for Asian American Children & Families.
Leviathan Lab’s 2025 activities are made possible, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature; and by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
