The Slow Table | A 90-Minute Japanese-Inspired Micro Retreat for What’s Next
Description
The Slow Table
Onigiri & Miso Soup
A Japanese-inspired micro retreat for busy professionals ready to slow down, reconnect and create space for what’s next.
When was the last time you stopped doing and simply experienced?
Life gets full — work, family, responsibilities, always doing and achieving.
Even when everything looks fine, you may feel something beginning to shift. A desire for more space, creativity, connection — or simply the time to wonder what you truly want next.
Created by transformational coach, private chef and holistic nutritionist Sachiko Marchand, The Slow Table brings together Japanese food culture and sensory experience to create space to slow down, reflect and reconnect with yourself.
The Slow Table was created for that moment.
And we’ll do it through something beautifully simple: making and sharing food together.
This Isn’t a Traditional Cooking Class
We’ll make two of Japan’s most loved soul foods, onigiri and miso soup, but learning a recipe isn’t really the point.
As we cook, I’ll guide you to slow down and engage your five senses. You’ll notice textures, aromas, colours, flavours and the feeling of creating something with your hands.
We’ll explore how Japanese approaches to food, simplicity and presence can offer a different perspective on the way we live.
This is about creating the conditions for new thoughts, conversations and possibilities to emerge naturally.

What You’ll Experience
During our 90 minutes together, you’ll:
Awaken your five senses through simple, mindful food preparation
Make your own onigiri with seasonal fillings and toppings
Create a nourishing bowl of miso soup
Pause, reflect and notice what’s present for you right now
Reconnect with curiosity, creativity and play
Share meaningful conversation with like-minded people
Sit down together to enjoy what we’ve created
No cooking experience is needed. Come exactly as you are.

Who Is The Slow Table For?
The Slow Table is for people who have achieved a lot, but feel something beginning to shift.
Maybe the goals that once motivated you don’t feel quite the same anymore. You’re craving more space, creativity, connection — or simply wondering:
What’s next?
You don’t need the answer. Just curiosity.

Meet Your Host

I’m Sachi, a transformational coach, private chef and holistic nutritionist.
After 25 years working with food around the world, I’ve become fascinated by how experiences — not just thinking — can change us.
Sometimes we need to use our hands, awaken our senses, share unexpected conversations and become curious again.
The Slow Table brings my worlds of food, Japanese culture and transformation together — creating space to slow down, reconnect and discover what might be waiting next.

The sun.

Sachi is an extraordinary chef whose food is as beautiful as it is memorable. Her cuisine carries a refined Asian sensibility, with delicate yet deeply satisfying flavours, and a presentation that transforms every meal into a sacred, shared experience. Dining at Sachi’s table feels intentional, generous, and quietly luxurious- Mel
There were so many disconnected pieces floating around in my head, and through Sachi’s clear and insightful guidance, they began to connect.
Together, we were able to build the foundation for what would become my life’s work.-Naho
