Thinking Green: Save water, boost soil: The power of microbes in Ellenbrook
Event description
Please note that this program is suitable for adults and young people aged 14 and over.
Photographs and videos may be taken of the event. Please book one ticket for each person attending.
Join us for an engaging session exploring how soil microbes can reduce water use while improving soil health.
Through practical demonstrations, including water infiltration and compaction testing, and live viewing of soil microbes, you’ll gain valuable insights into the hidden life in your soil. Learn how microbes improve soil structure, enhance water retention, and extend plant root systems to access more water.
Discover how to assess your soil’s microbial health, what impacts it, and how to encourage a thriving microbial population. This workshop offers practical tips and a Q&A to help you create healthier, water-efficient gardens.
The demonstration will take place outside the library for 10-15 minutes under shade. We recommend bringing a hat and drink bottle.
Please book in as spaces are limited. For all inquiries contact the Sustainable Environment Officer on 9267 9282.
