We will bring you livestreams, podcasts, and concerts where you can listen to the stories and hear the music of artists personally curated by us based on what we feel will be worthy of your time. 

Phillip Reese

Founder and Host

Phillip Reese has always had a knack for finding music and bands that listeners enjoy – putting together mix tapes in high school, DJ-ing on college radio featuring deep cuts, and finding live music in small venues and dive bars post-college. Word spread and people would seek out his curated lists of bands for music festivals, which lead to becoming part of a local podcast, co-producing and co-hosting the music content.

Then in May of 2022, Phillip founded Stereophilia Studio and started producing Your Next Favorite Band – bringing on artists and musicians to share their story and their music, often with exclusive performances.

Gangstagrass

The New York Times called Gangstagrass "the music America needs," and the best way to understand why is to experience it for yourself. The bluegrass pick and the hip-hop cypher are basically the same thing, and Gangstagrass unites them live, trading banjo and fiddle solos with sharp lyrics and rap verses freestyled on the spot. This is the show where bluegrass fans, hip-hop heads, city kids and country folk, grandparents and grandkids and everyone in between are all dancing to the same music.

These genre rebels are the most controversial bluegrass group on the scene. Known for the Emmy-nominated theme to the show Justified, Gangstagrass is the only band in history to bring real hip-hop MCs to #1 on the Billboard bluegrass chart. They've done it with TWO albums: the first time with No Time for Enemies, and then again with The Blackest Thing on the Menu, which the Grammys reclassified into the "Best Rap Album" category the same week it hit #1 on the bluegrass chart.

What Gangstagrass shows people, kids and adults alike, is that things they were taught belong in separate boxes can make each other better instead. Once you see that happen with music, you start wondering what else doesn't have to stay separate.

Over its decade-plus as a world-touring band, Gangstagrass has spent countless weeks on the Top 10 bluegrass chart, received UNESCO's International Innovator Award, and taught workshops for kids K-12, college students, and adults at national conferences. The band has been featured on PBS and covered by Forbes, Vice, the Wall Street Journal, NPR, and Rolling Stone, and praised in publications dedicated to hip-hop, to bluegrass, and to Americana. The common thread of it all is that Gangstagrass brings people together across political, racial, socioeconomic, geographic, and generational lines.

Gangstagrass is loved by everyone: little kids, teens, parents, grandparents, by bluegrass fans and by hip-hop heads. Eighty-year-olds and seven-year-olds alike dance their hearts out at a Gangstagrass show. People who love both bluegrass and hip-hop are delighted to finally hear them together in the same songs, and people who don't usually care for either genre find themselves loving what Gangstagrass does anyway.

The Flying Vees

The Flying Vees are a bona fide supergroup composed of four seasoned musicians of varied backgrounds. Brechyn Chace (vocals), Shannon Vasile (vocals), Caitlin Ramsey (keys) and Hannah Taylor (guitar/vocals) joined forces in 2020 to create their unique brand of wry, gothic, harmony-heavy Americana. Lovers of punk, country, folk, and maudlin, sad-girl caterwauling will be equally at home at a The Flying Vees show.

The East Falls Train Station is a short walk from the Fallser Club. Parking in East Falls is no problem! There is ample free on-street parking near the East Falls train station driveway at 3610 Midvale Ave and a paid municipal lot three blocks away at 4100 Ridge Ave.  Midvale Ave and Ridge Ave are both well-lit!
