Seniors Festival: Preserving with Australian Native Flavours

Join Margaret from Moss House and The Coal Loader team to learn about various ways of preserving food. 

Margaret will guide participants through the whole process, from preparing and sterilising jars, prepping fruit/veg, to boiling and pasteurising/canning, and how to use native flavours to enhance the finished product.

What to expect:
All participants will be going home with one jar of preserved seasonal food, prepared during the class, plus all of the knowledge to make various recipes from home.

This class is designed to be for creators of all levels, cooking novices and people of all abilities welcome!

Meet at The Mess Hall, in The Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability, 2 Balls Head Drive, Waverton, 2060.

Cost: $0 to take part however ONLY book if you can make it.

What to bring:

All ingredients, jars, recipe cards, and guidance will be provided.

Allergies and dietary requirements: This class may contain allergens such as wheat, dairy, eggs, and nuts. The product will be vegetarian. We apologise that as the whole class will be creating the same recipe dietary restrictions are not able to be accommodated in this class. 

Booking essential – limited to 16 places only! This is a seniors class available to 55yrs and over. We cannot take drop-ins on the day and all participants must be registered with their own name and contact details. Duplicate names will be deleted.

Please do not attend if you are suffering any COVID-19 related symptoms.
If you are feeling unwell at all in the lead-up to the class, please cancel your ticket (vis "Edit Order" on your receipt) so that your space can be passed to the next waiting.
