  This Way Orkestra is a Canberra-based Afrobeat infused collective bringing together sharp brass, deep rhythm, and big community energy. Blending afrobeat, jazz, reggae, ska, and dub, the band creates high-energy, groove-driven music designed as much for dancing as it is for listening — music with joy, movement, and meaning at its core. Built around complex polyrhythms, interlocking percussion, and soaring horn lines, This Way Orkestra draws inspiration from the political pulse of Afrobeat pioneers like Fela Kuti, while folding in the warmth of reggae, the bounce of ska, and sun-soaked festival vibes. Their sound is cinematic, playful, and propulsive — equal parts street party and sonic statement. The band is made up of long-time Canberra musicians with deep roots in the local scene, united by a shared love of collaboration, community, and live performance. Their shows are known for feeling immersive and communal, often extending beyond the band itself to include guest musicians, percussionists, and cross-artform collaborations. This Way Orkestra has released a growing catalogue of singles and maxi-singles, with their third release “Abdication” marking a bold step forward ahead of their forthcoming EP (due early 2026). They perform Bulgarian folk songs, characterised by wild rhythms, exotic melodies and bold singing, blending ancient traditions with modern musical idioms. For this performance they will be hosting a interactive dance session, sharing rich folk traditions from the Balkans through hypnotic rhythms, layered vocals and dynamic group dances that invite the audience into centuries-old celebrations.

Traditionally featured at festivals and celebrations to bring good fortune, prosperity and protection, Moon Bear Kung Fu’s lion (and dragon) dance performances blend martial discipline with theatrical flair, creating an electrifying and joyful cultural experience.
