Thrifty Gardening- CoW Sustainable Communities Workshop Series
Event description
This no-cost, online workshop is the sixth in the City of Whittlesea's Sustainable Communities Workshop Series.Â
In this workshop, educator Maria Ciavarella of My Green Garden will lead a presentation on being a successful gardener without spending a lot of money.Â
Topics covered will include:
- how to use home made compost in different ways
- seedlings from seed and basic seed saving tips
- striking plants from cuttings
- DIY organic fertilisers
- making self-watering potsÂ
Hands-on aspects of the workshop include making seedling pots from old newspapers and can be done by attendees in their homes. Participants will also receive extensive notes from the session.
The CoW Sustainable Communities Workshop Series aims to up-skill City of Whittlesea community members in the art of sustainable, climate-resilient living and community-building.Â
Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions to be entered into a prize drawing at the series' end. Every workshop participant will also receive a certificate of recognition for their participation and have the opportunity to share their learnings and creations at the celebration showcase in November 2023.
