We have arrived at this moment.

Due to the ever-increasing case numbers in Qld, and the constant emails and messages we have received from people who will either not be able to perform, work, or attend due to either having symptoms or being classed as a close contact, we are now in the position that we will not be able to provide THRIVE NYE Experience this year.

We have also received new advice from QLD health and the local police regarding this event, which will make it impossible for us to deliver the experience the way we want to for the community.

We are devastated by this news.

We have decided to POSTPONE the event, until the new year, with the new date to be confirmed once we have all the information at hand. We believe that after this period in history, our community will want the opportunity to THRIVE.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us through this journey. The Flow State Experience will continue to bring you events designed around, music, arts, connection, community, spirituality, health and wellbeing. We’ll be back baby!

Frequently Asked Questions

How are you putting on an event with the current restrictions?

The Qld health directive details several business activities that are subject to QR code upon entry, vaccine status, or capacity restrictions. Not all businesses are required to apply to these restrictions.

As a Health and Wellbeing Event Company, we are not a business listed within the directive. However, a number of the activities that are within the event are, so we have ensured that each activity complies to the requirement of the directive.

Anything not listed is considered a Non-Restricted Business, Activity or Undertaking.

After our review of the directive, and changes to our offering, we can comply with the directive by implementing QR code upon entry and capacity restrictions. We will also operate under a Covid Safe Checklist.

We are not subject to checking vaccine status.

But aren’t you a Festival?

No. We are not a festival. We understand that there is a perception that our event is a festival. Previously to the directive being released, this was not an issue for us. Since the directive has been released, we have reviewed the requirements, and pivoted elements of our business model, to ensure that we do not meet the description of a festival.

Yes, we do have live music. Along with a number of other activities such as kids’ entertainment, camping, yoga, meditation, breathwork, food trucks, acrobats and artisan markets.

THRIVE NYE experience does not fit any description within the directive, however, to ensure that we are meeting community expectation we have positioned our event as an outdoor community event. We have also looked at the individual activities within the event and reviewed them against the directive requirements. This is the reason we are subject to capacity restrictions, as some activities are restricted to 1 person per 2m2. We have applied this restriction throughout the event.

Are you a Private Venue hire?

No. We are not a venue hire. The Marshal Lakes Ski lakes is a campground, and not listed as a venue within the directive or the Covid Safe Checklist. This is therefore a non-restricted business, activity, or undertaking. We have also implemented a collaboration business model, with no hire agreement in place.

How have you made sure you comply?

We have done a lot of work to ensure that we have complied with the health directives, local government, and the local police requirements. This event has an approved local council permit. We have received legal advice on our interpretation of the directive, as well as consulted directly with QLD health. The local police have been on site and reviewed our event offering. As a small business we have done everything in our power to ensure we can still provide an experience to the community and comply with all requirements.

Why a membership model?

To ensure our community event is open to everyone, but we are still able to manage the capacity restrictions on the day, we have developed a membership model. The membership models allow us to provide an invitation to the event and ensure we comply with managing restrictions. This pivot in our business model, allows us to build a community and provide ongoing value to them. With ongoing access to our online partner Earth Hero TV, plus special offers on future events.

Our new business model also allows us the platform to provide further value and the opportunity to deliver on-line events. With Covid now part of all our lives, providing online content is part of future proofing our business.
