Thriving in menopause - second workshop
Event description
Yoga has been found to be a safe and effective intervention for women negotiating the Menopause stages of life (pre/peri/post-menopause). Done gently, mindfully and in a safe setting, yoga has been shown to reduce symptoms associated with Menopause; to improve quality of sleep; reduce the effects of anxiety; promote overall well-being and offer a better balance to life – all with no adverse side effects and at low cost to the practitioner.
Join Sue Stewart, a certified Menopause Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist, for these two unique workshops, offering gentle, slow and mindful yoga practices, Pranayama (breathing), Meditation, Restorative and Relaxation practices, specifically curated to address the symptoms and challenges arising with the transition to (and through) Menopause.
Workshop to be held on 14 June 2025 will tackle the loss of bone mineral density (BMD) and consequent bone fragility as estrogen levels decline. This Workshop will promote strength building practices (healthy muscle mass supports joint and bone stability), use longer held poses to promote weight bearing for building BMD, and employ balance poses to prevent falls and instability.
