The Head, Heart and Hands team are hosting a webinar focused on nature based interventions for mental health resilience from the impacts of climate change and during extreme weather events.

The 90 minute panel will include presentations and discussions on the impact of climate change on mental health and concepts of resilience to mental health impacts to extreme weather events. Join us in a conversation showcasing local examples of how nature based experiences can support wellbeing and positive health outcomes in community, clinical or educational settings.  Webinar participants will have the opportunity to watch the discussion, ask questions and become inspired to engage in nature based experiences to support wellbeing and positive health outcomes.  

Panellists include:

  • Dr Jo Longman - University of Sydney;
  • Dr Dimity Williams - General Practitioner, Co-founder Kids in Nature Network; Biodiversity Convener for Doctors for the Environment Australia
  • The Nature School (Port Macquarie);
  • Andrew Lord - Adventure Quest;
  • Cherie Levy - Psychologist; and
  • Facilitated by Dr. Sarah Mollard, General Practitioner.

This webinar is relevant to health professionals, mental health support workers, educators, parents and interested community members in the Mid and North Coast of NSW and beyond. 

The webinar is part of a NSW Government, Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) “Increasing Resilience to Climate Change” Community Grant.  Head, Heart and Hands are part of the Port Macquarie Hastings Sustainability Network, the program is auspiced by the Port Macquarie Community Garden.
