Event description

This is a follow up session from our Through Nature to Nurture webinar to provide health professionals and community members interested in mental health a chance to continue the conversation about how to respond to the mental health impacts of climate change, support mental health resilience in communities and implement nature based interventions in health and community settings.

The online sessions will be mentored by clinical psychologist Cherie Levy, who has a wealth of experience implementing nature based therapy in her work as a private practitioner, and for the innovative Human Nature Adventure Therapy program in the Northern Rivers region of NSW. Cherie will be supported by Port Macquarie GP Dr Sarah Mollard to run the events.

With limited spaces available, the sessions will allow participants the opportunity to examine practical aspects of implementing nature-based interventions for mental health and responses to climate change mental health impacts in a safe and welcoming environment. Sessions have been designed to be interactive and support networking between clinicians and others involved in community mental health support.

The 2 part series will run from 7pm to 8:30pm on Tuesday 23rd of February and Tuesday 9th of March 2021.

Registrants are encouraged to view the recording of the Through Nature to Nurture webinar prior to attending.

The Head Heart and Hands project is funded by a NSW Government Department of Planning Industry and the Environment Increasing Resilience to Climate Change community grant, and auspiced by Port Macquarie Community Gardens.
