Through Our Eyes — CFMF Photography Competition

Every man has a story. What does yours look like?

The Centre for Men and Families Australia invites men across Australia to share their view of the world through Through Our Eyes, our photography competition. We’re looking for photographs that capture something meaningful about your life—the people, places, experiences and moments that have shaped you. Your image might explore connection, belonging, vulnerability, fatherhood, loss, joy, spiritual growth or the beauty found in everyday life.

It could be a portrait, a landscape, a shared moment or an ordinary object with a story behind it. What matters is what it means to you.

At CFMF, we create spaces where men can connect, learn, be loved and belong. Through this competition, we invite you to pause, look a little deeper and share something of yourself through photography.

Whether you use a phone or a camera, you’re welcome to enter.

A year of stories through our eyes

The 12 winning photographs will feature in CFMF’s 2028 calendar, bringing a different perspective and story to each month of the year. Every entrant will receive a copy of the calendar.

How to enter:

Register through this page, then email your photographs to admin@cfma.org.au.

Please include:

• Your name and registration details in the email.

• A title for each photograph.

• A short description explaining the story behind each image and what it means to you.

Submit photographs as high-resolution JPEG files, using the photograph’s title as the filename. Please keep your name and any identifying watermark off the image so entries can be displayed anonymously for voting. If entering more than one photograph, please send your entries together in the same email.

Entry fees:

• One photograph: $20

• Two photographs: $35

• Three photographs: $40

Entries close 30 April 2027.

Prizes and voting:

Photographs will be displayed at the National CFMF Gathering, where attendees will determine the 12 winning images by popular vote.

All 12 winning photographs will feature in the CFMF 2028 calendar, with the top three also receiving:

• First prize: $300

• Second prize: $150

• Third prize: $100

Sharing your work:

You retain ownership of your photographs. By entering, you give CFMF permission to reproduce your submitted images and accompanying descriptions for the competition, the 2028 calendar and related promotion. Published photographs will be credited to their photographers.

Please submit only photographs you have taken yourself. If people are recognisable in your photographs, please obtain their permission to enter and share the images, including permission from a parent or guardian for children.
