Event description

Writing for the next 7 Generations - Thrutopian Writers Lab

We know that inspiring stories shape our life.  Throughout human history, our power to imagine a better world has pushed – or pulled – us away from the comfort of the known.  But our stories of power, accumulation and self-aggrandisement have brought us to the edge of extinction and we urgently need new heroes, new ways of doing things, new peaks to aim for.” Manda Scott

If you are a writer and are concerned about the state of our world do come and join us to for this enlightening evening writers lab.  You must book to reserve your seat.

You Must Book Early to reserve your place.

Stories are powerful.  Some of the stories we are living no longer serve us.   Perhaps it’s time to take a reality check on where we are at and create some new stories that light a pathway to the future.  Find out how to cut through the polarities of good and bad, right and wrong – unrealistic Utopian futures that give false hope, and doomsday Dystopian narratives that numb the mind.  Join us to explore Thrutopia, a new global genre of writing that creates a pathway to a future we’d be proud to leave for the next generations.  Stories of possibility, connection, agency and hope.  Whether you are a writer or not, bring your writing gear and your imagination to join this interactive and liberating Writers Lab.

Led by Laurel Freeland, a social ecological facilitator who leads workshops and groups about how we might live in harmony with each other and the planet. She works with organisations and teams to create ways of thinking and working to change systems and the way we live in the world.
