WEATHER IS STARTING TO COOL DOWN LET’S GET READY TO GUMBO

Do you think you make the best gumbo around? Do your friends and family endlessly rave about it?

Well now is your chance to put your roux where your mouth is!!

Come join us for the Southeast Chapter’s Gumbo Rumble

(You will be able to setup tents in the courtyard)

Come and eat some great tasting gumbo and support our scholarship fund.
Enter your team…All gumbo will be cooked on site with roux made from scratch or you can use store bought. Each team should be prepared to provide their own ingredients, pot, propane and burner and prepare enough gumbo for 50-70 taster bowls (Table decorations and giveaways are encouraged). The chapter will provide the rice, bread pudding, potato salad, bowls and utensils.

This year there will be three categories– Surf Gumbo (Seafood), Turf Gumbo (Chicken, duck, turkey, sausage) and Mystery Swamp Monster Gumbo.
Awards will be given for 1st place and runner up in each category and the Mystery Swamp Monster (Most unique presentation or ingredient), plus the Fan Favorite.

All proceeds from this event will go toward funding the Southeast Chapter’s Student Scholarship Awards program. To date the SE Chapter has awarded over $130,000 in Student Scholarships!
