Thursday Lunch Club: Bernie Kuran

Title:  “History of Jewish Surnames – their origins, types and etymologies”

Bio: Bernie is the Vice President of the Australian Jewish Genealogical Society, and has been a committee member for the past 15 years. He has presented numerous talks to society members, Limmud Oz, and he also volunteers annually to assist Jewish high school students with their Roots Projects. He has attended local and international conferences on Jewish Genealogy. In 2016, Bernie assisted the Australian Football League during their Multicultural Round with successful research to seek out Jewish footballers from the early years of the AFL.
