Dr Rob Webster

Co-Founder Animal Emergency Service | Specialist in Emergency & Critical Care

Dr Rob Webster is a specialist in veterinary emergency and critical care and Co Founder of Animal Emergency Australia. He has seen more cases of tick paralysis than any vet (arguably!), often at the more severe end of the spectrum.

He graduated from the University of Queensland in 2001 and has dedicated his entire career to emergency veterinary practice. Working extensively across South-East Queensland, Rob has developed significant expertise in the initial management and referral of tick paralysis cases. He became a registered specialist in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care in 2014.

Rob has also played a pivotal role in mentoring and training the next generation of emergency veterinarians, including supervising Dr Ellie Leister during her specialist training.

Criticalist Veterinarian | Pet ICU, Underwood

A Criticalist Veterinarian at our Pet Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Brisbane. Ellie and the PICU team work tirelessly to manage the most severe tick paralysis cases, some of which require mechanical ventilation.

Dr Ellie Leister graduated from the University of Sydney in 2004 and began her career in mixed practice across Australia and the UK before transitioning into small animal and emergency practice in Brisbane. She commenced her residency in Emergency and Critical Care in 2015, achieving Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in 2019. Ellie is widely respected for her expertise in critical care and her commitment to advancing clinical outcomes in patients.

Dr Will Crosby

Dr Will Crosby is the Veterinary Manager at Animal Emergency Service Carrara. He joined AES in 2016 as AES Carrara's first Veterinary Intern and has spent the last 10 years developing his clinical skills with a particular focus on CPR. He works across emergency and critical care medicine, clinical leadership, workforce development, and veterinary education, with a particular interest in building sustainable, high-performing teams and improving outcomes for both patients and staff.
