The Women's Leadership and Development forum will focus on developing self-awareness of leadership potential, both individually and collectively through discussions around:
- Indigenous Business Leadership
- Leadership and Wellbeing
- Business and Closing the Gap through Investment
- Women in Business Leadership – lessons from those leading the way.
About the facilitator
Carol is a Dunghutti Woman from Armidale, NSW, and has lived in QLD for the past 10 years. She is a specialist inter-cultural consultant and facilitator. She specialises in working
with clients across a range of industries, to enhance their organisational capacity through social research, community consultations, stakeholder engagement and evaluation services. Carol draws on her extensive career in the public sector and provides practical tools and professional services to her clients that are culturally sensitive, and outcome focused, while bringing her history and culture. Carol has worked in senior management in Aboriginal Affairs, education, housing, disabilities, and child protection.
About the Tiddas in Business program: The Tiddas in Business program is a series of culturally appropriate business activities that introduce entrepreneurship, business, and leadership skills. The activities are led by Indigenous Businesswomen who provide insights, strategies, tools and resources for starting and growing a business.
The Business Ready Workshops use a toolkit that covers topics central to establishing a business, including - how to get started, ABN registration, business names, doing e-business, business structures, forecast + cash flow, strategic planning, insurance, Intellectual Property rights, digital marketing + networking, money, legal advice, scaling your business, exporting.
Masterclass: Walking in Two Worlds, Communicating with Influence and The Art of Pitching; Business Plan/Capability Statement; Developing Proposals; Cashflow forecast; Marketing & Sales; Cyber Security; Web page development; Business Tax, BAS - working with the ATO; Legal Matters for starting your business, IP and Copyright; Strategic Planning.
Mentoring Circles: The circle is led by Indigenous Businesswomen. It is informal, and tend to bring forward conversations, business insights, challenges, and the lived experiences of other women in business. The circles are culturally safe and provide opportunities for sharing thoughts and ideas, asking questions, and building supportive networks.
