Warm welcome to our 2022 NZAC conference Tihei Mauri Ora
E nga reo, e nga mana, e nga karangatanga maha he mihi, he mihi, he mihi nui rawa. Ka mihi tonu ki te Kaihanga, me te Aorangi whanui ara nga ahuatanga e pā ana ki a Papatūanuku e tū tonu nei. Ka huri nga whakaaro arohanui ki nga tini mate e hinga atu e hinga nei, haere atū ra, moe mai rā, ōkiōki i te rangimarietanga. Kia tatou e te hunga ora, he kaha kei to tinana, engari te mana kei to wairua. Kia manawanui i nga wa katoa.
To the many voices and combined influences, strengths and wisdom, warm greeting once, twice and three times. Acknowledgements to the higher Source, the Universe and all planet earth's inhabitants, that still lives on today. Loving thoughts go to those loved ones who have died here and overseas and their memories still linger, we say farewell and rest in the deep sleep of peace.To us who carry the future forward, the strength is in your body but the power is in your spirit. Be brave and courageous, always.
We hope our conference will replenish, energise, stimulate and restore you. Especially after the last long two years of covid.
Our key note speakers are our very own Christine MacFarlane, NZAC president and Gay Puketapu-Andrews, Te Ahi Kaa. We will treasure their last sharings with us as they leave their NZAC leadership roles.
Our second key note is Louise Embleton Tudor from New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists speaking to Tihei Mauri Ora. Our guest speaker is Dr Allyson Davys presenting on Reflection and learning in supervision.
The conference will be hosted in the beautiful venue Wharewaka event centre on the Wellington waterfront. There are amazing ocean views from level 1 and lovely outdoor spaces to chat and relax in.
The stunning powerful conference image was drawn by our in-house graphic designer Jo McNab. Jo drew her inspiration from the woven tukutuku panels that adorn the walls of the marae, echoing voices, wisdom and stories from the past in their interwoven strands, forming a strong lasting bond.
The conference is our first hybrid delivery: Both in person and on line tickets available. We begin registration on Thursday 28 July at 11am and end Friday 29 July at 5.30pm.If you are attending in person, you are welcome to join the early evening drinks and canapes until 7.30pm.
The structure of each day has streams of four presentations being presented simultaneously. You are invited to select one presentation from each stream. The streams have limited in person numbers for each presentation.
There are early bird tickets on sale until 4 weeks out, 1st July 2022.
100% of profit from ticketing registration fees to Humanitix goes to support the New Zealand children's project Maniakalani.
We are very much looking forward to seeing you all, both in person and virtually and to strengthen connections within our NZAC whānau. We hope to see many of our ‘cousins’, allied health professionals.
