2027 TiPS for Educators - The Role of Music in Montessori Second Plane Environments
Description
The Role of Music in Montessori Second Plane Environments
Join us as we explore the important role of music in the 6–12 Montessori environment.
We will consider how singing, rhythm, movement and listening continue to support the child's language, physical and social development, as well as their emotional wellbeing. We will also explore music-making as a meaningful and purposeful work choice within the classroom.
Together, we will revisit the progression of music from sensorial experiences through to music notation, considering how and why this work is introduced and developed within the Montessori classroom, rather than being taught by an outside specialist.
Join us for an opportunity to refresh our understanding, share ideas and reflect on how we can nurture children's natural interest in and appreciation of music throughout the 6–12 years.
