We’re throwing a Big Ol' silly and sexy fundraising party to help our friend Libby finally get the gender-affirming top surgery they deserve — and to give back to trans folks in Texas facing persecution.

This ain’t just a fundraiser! It's a night of reclaiming joy and community in the face of all the bullshit that queer and trans people are dealing with worldwide. We are getting together to look after our own.

We all know that in the face of this bloody crisis, all amounts of saving and scrimping just don't cover the life saving gender affirming care that everyone is worthy of.

LIBBY'S STORY

"When I was 15 years old, I stood alone in my bathroom and wrapped my chest in medical tape. I didn’t know what I was doing, or what it meant at the time. I stuffed all my hair up under a baseball cap, pulled on a T-shirt over my makeshift binder, and looked at myself in the mirror. I felt a calmness wash over me. I saw a glimpse of who I was meant to be. I saw into the future I didn’t yet have the words for — I saw a glimpse into who I am standing before you today. 

I held that version of myself close and quiet for many years. But even when I couldn’t speak it out loud, I never forgot that feeling — of seeing my true self and knowing what peace might look like.

That moment, and that little person I was, is why this surgery matters.

I'm accutely aware of the suffering of trans people in my home state and want to use this opportunity to support those back in Texas being persecuted. I am partnering with a Texas-based transgender support charity, and will be donating a percentage of the total spend to this charity. If my goal is met and exceeded, every dollar over what insurance refunds me will be going to this charity. "
