Tue, 19 Aug, 5:30pm - 8pm AWST

Event description

To launch our Innovate RAP,  TLG invites you to join us for a panel discussion exploring the role of education in advancing reconciliation in Australia. This conversation will bring together First Nations voices alongside educators and community leaders to discuss the role that schools, universities, and education-focused organisations play in the reconciliation and truth-telling process, in a post-referendum Australia. Together, we’ll explore some of the challenges and opportunities in creating learning environments that genuinely embed, reflect and honour First Nations histories, cultures, and perspectives.

The panel discussion will commence at 6 pm, followed by drinks and nibbles and the opportunity to connect and share reflections.

We will also be releasing a limited merchandise line showcasing our RAP artwork "Kaartdijin Bidi" by Talicia Griffin, who will present an introduction to the piece. Talicia is a proud Ballardong Mineng Noongar yok (girl) from Kondinin who received tutoring from visiting TLG tutors as a primary school student, and now volunteers with TLG as a program coordinator.

Tickets: Free, with the option to pay what you can. Any proceeds from the event will support TLG’s reconciliation efforts and support future community events like this one.
Dress: Business casual
Inclusions: Drinks and nibbles
