    We invite you to join our free webinar to develop effective strategies and build confidence when 'Responding to Racism and Hurtful Languages in the classroom and playground' (Professional standards: 4.1)

    Learn and develop practical strategies to effectively respond to Hurtful Language and create a more cohesive classroom and playground.

    Teachers who are looking to develop skills and learn practical solutions for everyday problems.

    Presented by Kate Xavier: 


    Kate is the Professional Learning Lead at TFH where she is passionate about supporting teachers and school communities foster inclusive school environments that enhance belonging for all. Kate has worked with school communities delivering professional learning and consultancy support to develop whole-school approaches to belonging, resilience and respect in her previous role at the Association of Independent Schools of NSW. A NESA Accredited teacher, she taught Human Society and its Environment (HSIE), specialising in Studies of Religion for 15 years. Her interests include anti-racism education, countering far-right extremism, fostering student voice and culturally responsive pedagogie.

    Participants will consider:

    - The impacts of racism on wellbeing and belonging

    - Forms of hurtful and harmful language

    - Strategies for effectively responding to students using hurtful language

    - Supporting the targets of racism and hurtful language
