Event description

The Traditional Owner Game Management Strategy sets out how Victorian Government departments and agencies will partner with Traditional Owners to reinstate cultural knowledge and practice in game management on Country.

The Strategy was established in the spirit of genuine collaboration and self-determination. In its first year, implementation is focused on four pilot projects develop or improve collaborative management strategies on State Game Reserves and Nature Reserves where hunting occurs.

A day on Country at Jack Smith Lake State Game Reserve – a pilot established by Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC) – will be an opportunity to explore this project and share information relevant to each pilot project, to strengthen their outcomes and help ensure success.
