Multiple Golden Guitar winner, musician and horseman Tom Curtain is hitting the road again with his national award-winning Katherine Outback Experience team.

Bringing together horses, working dogs, live country music and plenty of good old-fashioned family fun, this unique touring show has become a favourite with regional communities across Australia.

The Dolly's Dream ambassador is passionate about taking quality entertainment to communities often overlooked on the entertainment trail, celebrating the people, animals and way of life that make the country special and spreading the anti-bullying message along the way.

The show includes:

• 1 hour Katherine Outback Experience Show
  Experience real horse training and working dog demonstrations, with plenty of laughs, audience interaction and hands-on fun for the kids.

• 2 hours of live country music
  Featuring Tom Curtain, Chris Matthews & Friends.

Companion / Carer Cards

One companion/ carer accompanying a cardholder are admitted free of charge. Please select the Companion/Carer ticket option during checkout. Proof of a valid card must be presented on entry.

What to Bring

Guests are encouraged to bring chairs for seating. Please dress appropriately for an outdoor event and check the weather forecast before attending. Cash and EFTPOS will be available for merchandise and food/drink purchases.

Accessibility

We work hard to make our events welcoming and accessible for people of all ages and abilities. We aim to provide low-mobility parking close to the check-in area and an accessible toilet wherever possible. A site plan showing low-mobility parking and key event facilities will be emailed to ticket holders on the day of the event.

About Tom Curtain

Tom Curtain is a nationally acclaimed country music singer-songwriter, multiple Golden Guitar winner and one of Australia's most unique live entertainers.

His sixth studio album, Here's To You, debuted at No.1 on the ARIA Top 20 Australian Country Albums Chart and No.1 on the AIR 100% Independent Albums Chart. Singles including Here's To You, Good Life, Top End Tough, Knockin' Down the Walls and Just Give It a Crack have enjoyed strong success on Australian country music radio and charts.

Tom's music career and his work with horses come together on tour, creating a live experience unlike a traditional country music concert.

In 2018, Tom won two Golden Guitar Awards for Never Never Land, his duet with Luke O'Shea. He has also received multiple Australian Independent Country Music Awards and was inducted into the Hands of Fame in Tamworth in 2023.

Following the tragic passing of Amy 'Dolly' Everett, Tom wrote and recorded Speak Up with Sara Storer and has continued to use his music, touring and community reach to promote the importance of kindness and speaking up.

Together, Katherine Outback Experience and Outback Productions have raised significant funds for Dolly's Dream through music, merchandise, events and other fundraising initiatives.

These funds help Dolly's Dream deliver programs and resources that support young people, families and communities in addressing bullying and online safety.

Katherine Outback Experience

Owned and operated by Tom Curtain and his wide Annabel, Katherine Outback Experience (KOE) is an award-winning tourist attraction based in Katherine, Northern Territory.

The show celebrates life on the land through real horse training, working dog demonstrations, station animals, Australian horsemanship and live entertainment.

Katherine Outback Experience has received numerous national tourism awards, and following three consecutive Gold wins in 2023, 2024 and 2025 at the Qantas Australia Tourism Awards, Katherine Outback Experience was inducted in to the prestigious Hall of Fame.

KOE operates from its Katherine property during the Northern Territory Dry Season before the team, horses and working dogs hit the road for their annual national tour.

Is the event suitable for children?

Absolutely. The show is designed to be family-friendly and suitable for all ages. There is no minimum age unless specifically stated for an individual venue. Children particularly enjoy the horses, working dogs and interactive elements of the Katherine Outback Experience show.

Do I need ID?

Photo ID will be required where alcohol is served.

What are the parking and transport arrangements?

Unless otherwise stated, guests are responsible for arranging their own transport to and from the event. Low mobility/ accessible parking is always reserved close to the check-in point. A Site Plan will be sent the day of the event once we have arrived on site. As information is made available, it is added to our website here.

What should I bring?

We recommend bringing a chair, weather-appropriate clothing, hat and sunscreen for daytime events, warm clothing for evening events where appropriate, and cash/card for food, drinks and merchandise.

Can I bring my dog, ferret or cow (yes we have had them all)?

For the safety of our team, guests, horses, working dogs and your own dog (ferret, cow or other animal), we ask that you please leave pets at home.

Our events involve horses, livestock and working dogs in a busy and unfamiliar environment. Even well-behaved pets can react unpredictably, or cause our animals to become distracted or unsettled.

Registered/recognised assistance and service dogs are welcome. We simply ask that they remain under the control of their handler at all times and away from our livestock.

Is the event accessible?

We welcome guests with accessibility requirements and accept Companion/Carer Cards (see ticket options). Venue-specific accessibility information will be made available closer to the event on our website here. For further accessibility queries, please email events@katherineoutback.com.au.

What happens if it rains?

The event will proceed rain, hail or shine where it is considered safe to do so. If necessary, event organisers reserve the right to modify, postpone or relocate the event. Ticket holders will be notified of significant changes via the contact details supplied with their booking. If the event is cancelled, ticket holders will receive a full refund.

What is the refund policy?

Guests can self-manage refunds up to 14 days prior to the event.

Within 14 days of the event, refunds will only be considered in extenuating circumstances. Requests should be emailed to events@katherineoutback.com.au with supporting information where applicable.

Do I need to print my ticket?

No. In fact, we'd prefer you didn't! Simply have the QR code on your phone ready for our team to scan at the gate OR we can simply look up your booking using the name associated with your booking.

Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?

Yes. Tickets are transferable. We recommend updating the attendee information so important event communications on the morning of the event reach the person attending.

Does the name on the ticket need to match the person attending?

No. However, updating the ticket holder's details makes it easier for us to communicate any important event information.

How do I contact the organisers?

Messages on social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) get lost amongst the chaos. Please email us instead.

As our team will be travelling around Australia with horses, dogs and crew throughout the tour, we may occasionally have limited phone reception or be busy running another event or home school our kids. Please also note we will be in different time zones. We'll respond to emails as soon as possible.

How can I avoid ticket and social media scams?

Please be aware of fake profiles and ticket scammers. Tickets should always be purchased through our official ticketing link or authorised Humanitix ticketing platform.

If purchasing a ticket from someone else, please don't send payment if something doesn't feel right. You can email events@katherineoutback.com.au and we're happy to check that the ticket/booking name is legitimate before you purchase.

Tom and our team will never ask you to privately message us from a social media comment, request money or payment via social media, or ask for your banking details. Formal correspondence about your booking or our events will be sent via email.

If in doubt, don't click, pay or provide personal information – contact us directly first.
