Tonglen Daylong Retreat with Lama Lakshey Zangpo
Event description
On Sunday March 16th, Lama Lakshey Zangpo Rinpoche will lead a daylong Tonglen meditation retreat, both in person from Larung Hermitage and online as well. The retreat will consist of instruction and experiential practice of the Tonglen meditation. This daylong retreat will include live teaching and access to on-demand audio and video recordings.
Tonglen, a Tibetan word meaning giving and receiving, is a meditation practice focused on cultivating compassion and interconnectedness. It involves using the breath as a means of exchanging suffering and negativity for peace, happiness, and well-being. Through this practice, we can deepen our compassion and reduce self-centeredness by dissolving the boundary between self and other, fostering a sense of shared humanity. Tonglen in its essence it can be seamlessly woven to life’s everyday experiences. Mindfully exchanging others' suffering for compassion has the power to transform our own mental states, enhance the well-being of others, and create a more positive and harmonious environment.
