Event description

The sibling relationship is important and unique to each family. Join Julia Mefferd to discuss ways to help support, inform, and empower siblings of autistic children. Our aim will be to provide parents tools to validate siblings’ feelings, empower siblings to be an advocate for both themselves and their sibling, and provide age-appropriate information to answer some of their questions about their siblings' neurotype.

Julia is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in the treatment of mental health in the context of neurodivergence and the founder of All Kinds of Minds Therapy. All Kinds of Minds Therapy strives to provide quality, evidence based, and neurodivergent affirming mental health care that considers diverse learning and developmental needs. Outside of mental health, creating spaces for all kinds of minds has been Julia’s passion. From planning adaptive field trips, to training medical personnel on supporting sensory needs in the emergency department, Julia aims to partner with parents and neurodivergent individuals in advocacy.
