Foundations Forum is a Sydney - based non - profit NSW organisation formed in 1985 by a group of individuals committed to improving the lives of people who are marginalised in society. Our aim is to challenge, inspire and encourage individuals and organisations to pursue better lives for people who are at risk of being devalued, by promoting the principles and practice of Social Role Valorisation (SRV). We seek to achieve this through running workshops/training events designed to create: - A deeper awareness of the circumstances of people who are devalued by society ( perhaps as a result of physical or intellectual disability, mental illness, aging, poverty and/or homelessness), and - A deeper awareness of what one can do to make a positive difference in their lives. Foundations Forum receives no funding and relies solely on membership and workshop fees to continue its work.
