Towards A Better Life: An exploration of the Social Role Valorisation (SRV) Framework with regard to people who are marginalised - ONLINE (Over 4 Half Days)
About this Workshop:
Learn a framework that helps give meaning and depth and helps to make the most of contemporary opportunities! This workshop explores how getting valued roles can lead to changed societal perceptions and strengthen the likelihood that people with a devalued status will get a better life.
The core themes and principles of SRV will be explored through presentations, exercises and discussions. Completion allows entry to the 5 day practicum, PASSING.
Who Should Attend:
This workshop is designed for participants from a range of sectors (disability, aged care, mental health, youth etc). This will include support workers, coordinators, family members, people with disabilities, people with a mental illness and older people receiving services. Participants will be people who are looking for ways of meeting the real needs of marginalised people, resulting in a better lives.

Additional Information for Online Workshops:
We are trying to create an online version of a face-to face workshop. Participants will ideally agree to the following guidelines to assist with this goal:
i. Will be in a quite space for the sessions: 1 participant per computer, per room (no group office environments)
ii. Will use a laptop or PC for the zoom sessions; a tablet if no other option; but not a phone
iii. Can attend all sessions, and keep my video on
iv. Will complete the 5 min online pre-evaluation and 1.5hr video preparation about ‘marginalisation’ before session 1, and do the 20 min learning activity after session 2 and before session 3.
v. Let Values in Action know if I haven’t received the handout pack one week before the start of Session 1
vi. Will have printed copy of workbook and handout ready for session 1.
