Toy Swap & Toy Hospital
Event description
Are your children’s toys or unloved good quality clothing lying around gathering dust or have they simply outgrown them? Come along to the Toy Swap and exchange them for something 'new'! Toys and clothing must be in working condition and suitable for ages 2-8 years. Maximum of six (6) toys per child. All genders are welcome. Please ensure all toys have all pieces secured. Please note that we will also be hosting a Toy Hospital during this event so bring along any soft toys that require a fix!
Please note: All children must be supervised by an adult. To allow more children to attend the event, we request only one parent/guardian per family. Whatever toys you swap, please make sure your child is emotionally detached from the item, as once it has been swapped you cannot change your mind.
Time
2pm to 3pm is for drop off only.
3pm to 3.30pm is your time to swap!
Eligibility
To participate you must drop toys off at the allocated time. For each item you drop off you will receive a token which can then be used to select another item. A maximum of six (6) toys per child will be accepted. Please only book one ticket per participant, not per toy.
What toys will we accept?
Toys, books and games in good quality condition
What will we not accept?
Underwear, socks
Costumes
Other children equipment (baby seats, bassinets)
Cloth nappies or disposable nappies
Items with adult content
Items with loose battery covers (batteries are a choking hazard)
Items missing pieces (please try to secure or contain toys with multiple pieces)
Broken, stained, smelly items
Please note that we have quality screening processes at our events. Any items left over after the event finishes are donated to a local charity.
This event is part of Whitehorse City Council's Sustainable Whitehorse program.
