Event description

UPDATE: Cinema Nova confirms the film will be showing at 6 PM.

The Victorian Trade Union Choir supports social justice in all its forms and is ably led by Choir Director Michael Roper.

"The Seed of the Sacred Fig" combines gripping storytelling with real-life footage of recent protests in Iran, capturing a family's turmoil amid a society in upheaval." It was well received in both the Sydney and Melbourne Film Festivals, and various reviews describe it as a "masterwork", "brilliant", and "remarkable", (with) "clarity, conviction and compassion.. a remarkable revolutionary work of art" - among other accolades.

Please come and support the Victorian Trade Union Choir. Profits from ticket sales will go towards funding award wages for our Director, to keep the VTUC alive and kicking (and singing) for another 35 years.

PLEASE NOTE THIS FILM RUNS FOR 2 HOURS AND 47 MINUTES.
