Event: Trades Hall and the Magic of Independent Theatre

General information

Travel instructions

Victorian Trades Hall Council is located on the corner of Lygon St and Victoria St in Carlton South. Trades Hall is a 600 metre walk from Melbourne Central Station. The Melbourne Central tram stop is wheelchair accessible. There is limited on-street parking around Lygon St and Victoria St. We suggest planning in advance and carefully checking the parking limitations. The 200 and 207 bus lines stop directly outside Trades Hall. Enter Trades Hall through the main Lygon St entrance. The entrance to Trades Hall has a number of steps.

Toilet location

DDA compliant bathroom facilities are accessible on every floor near the lifts and in the central toilet block. Some of our event spaces require a circuitous route but all can be reached in a motorised wheelchair. All bathrooms are gender neutral, besides the male toilets located on the ground floor of the 1960's rear building. Baby change facilities are available on floor 2.

Accessible parking

The Victorian Trades Hall Council has two dedicated accessible street parking spaces on Lygon Street, near its main entrance, and also offers on-request accessible parking inside the building. For planning your visit, it's best to contact the Victorian Trades Hall Council directly via email at youth@vthc.org.au to reserve one of these spaces or to arrange assistance with parking.

Wheelchair access info

Wheelchair access is available via wheelchair lift or via the boomgates on the North side of the Lygon St building. There will be signage and staff members on hand to point you in the right direction. If you need assistance call Edwina on 0409 017 140.
