    Basket Weaving at Ross - Spend a weekend learning the art of basket making in beautiful Tasmania. In-person weekend event will take place at Ross, where you'll dive into the ancient art of basket weaving. Join us for a 2 days hands-on experience and discover the beauty of creating your own unique baskets. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this event is perfect for anyone looking to explore a new craft. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn from skilled instructors and immerse yourself in the art of basket making. When ? Sat June 29th and Sun 30th 10 am start on the Sat and finish lunchtime on the Sunday - we will enjoy lunch and then discussion before everyone returns home ( please note the package includes a stayover in Ross on saturday night ) Cant make it - look for our other dates in July and August Venue :Ross Town Hall Whats Included ? Included in your ticket price is 1 nights stay in the gorgeous heritage town of Ross at 4 star accommodation Riverview at Ross in your own ensuite room ( just 2 mins walk from the venue) plus 1.5 days of creative instruction from experienced Facilitators Jilli and Anna This exciting workshop includes all materials, morning tea and lunch on both days plus breakfast at the accommodation on Sun morning Tell me more! Join Jilli and Anna in a relaxed and informal setting for a weekend of friendship and sharing. Create your own one-of-a-kind basketry pieces, using found, gathered and repurposed materials as supplied. Explore ideas for making simple vessels and learn how to make string from plant fibres or fabric and then turn that cordage into a small basket. Experiment with coiling, twining, plaiting and knotting -basketry techniques which, once learned, can be applied to jewellery, mixed media, textile arts, basketry and more. Work over or around an object, create a basket, make a wearable piece or combine the processes to create something totally individual using just your hands, your creativity and found materials. We will also discuss various plant fibres and materials and learn how to collect, store and prepare them for weaving. This will be an excellent starting point for those thinking they might like to delve deeper into the world of basket weaving. All materials are provided; however, feel free to bring along any items that you might like to add as decoration, egseashells, buttons, rocks, nuts, feather, etc. Book your spot now!
