Traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony
Description
Join us at this special cultural event at Magill Community Centre.
This 90-minute workshop offers an accessible introduction to Japanese tea ceremony (Chadō), designed especially for those with no previous experience or knowledge.
Participants will enjoy a live tea demonstration, showcasing the calm and deliberate movements of the tea ceremony, followed by the opportunity to taste freshly prepared matcha.
The workshop also explores how the principles of tea ceremony can be applied to everyday life. Drawing on Japanese cultural perspectives, it introduces simple ways to slow down, be present, and find balance in daily routines — offering insights into wellbeing in a fast-paced modern society.
The workshop will be led by Soei Takefuji a tea practitioner and instructor affiliated with the Urasenke school, one of the main traditions of Japanese tea ceremony.
Priority will be given to Campbelltown Council Residents
