Trail Mix: Pump tracks, jump lines and MTB trails - What is the difference and which one should you build?

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Over the last few years, construction of bike recreation precincts, including pump tracks, jump lines and MTB trail networks has increased dramatically. With the rise of mountain biking, many local government authorities are constructing recreation precincts and "youth precincts" for bike riders, in lieu of the traditional skatepark.

However, for the non-bikers among us, it can be confusing to know:

  • What’s the difference between a pump track, a jump line and a MTB trail?
  • What should we build in a bike recreation precinct?
  • Who am I catering for when developing these types of recreation precincts?
  • What needs to be considered during the planning to ensure good design, construction and management?

This webinar will provide an overview of how to provide for bikes in recreation precincts and what some of the key considerations are.
