A Fall Adventure Like No Other!
Wander a scenic loop trail at Viles Arboretum stopping at stations along the way that offer hands-on activities, nature-inspired fun, and a few tasty treats!
Our Trail of Treats & Discovery is a unique, seasonal activity that offers children the opportunity to explore, learn, and have fun outdoors. We hope to inspire a lifelong love for nature.

Event parking is available off-site within a 5 minute walk of the event entrance:

BMV on Piggery Road (Employee/Delivery entrance)

Trail Map
The Trail of Treats & Discovery follows a 1-mile loop trail through the Arboretum that starts and ends at the Piggery Road Park and Ride.
Trail surfaces include mowed grass and gravel.
Attendees will encounter a wooden boardwalk with a tall step, sloped sections of trail, rocks, and roots.
Sections of the trail may be wet or muddy.
The trail is wagon and stroller friendly.

FAQs
- How much candy will my child get?
Our stations are hosted by volunteers from our community who provide all the materials and supplies for their activity. We encourage each host to have some sort of treat to give out, but do not require them to hand out candy.
- What age is the event for?
This event is geared toward children aged 4 through 9 years old but all ages are welcome to attend. Children 3 years of age and younger are free!
- How long is the trail?
The trail is about a mile.
The amount of time it takes will depend on your engagement with the activities. We estimate that it will take about an hour to complete.
- Is the trail accessible?
Making our event accessible to everyone is important to us! Once we determine the exact route we will be able to provide more specific accessibility details.
- I'm a member - how do I purchase my free tickets?
Members can can use their promo code to purchase free tickets. We'll send an email out prior to the tickets going on sale. You can also email info@vilesarboretum.org or call 207-626-7989 to get your promo code.
