Event description
The Baha'i Community of Geraldton would like to invite you to participate in the Train, Engage, Connect and Support (TECS) Project Community Consultation, facilitated by the Federation of Ethnic Communities' Council of Australia (FECCA) in partnership with Settlement Services International (SSI).
Background:
The TECS Project invites culturally and linguistically diverse communities to participate in consultations on Family, Domestic, and Sexual Violence (FDSV). The aim of the project is to build the capabilities of community and faith leaders to address FDSV in their communities, and through co-design, develop an evidence based, culturally appropriate national training package and good practice guides to support community and faith leaders to identify and respond to FDSV more effectively.
The TECS project aims to enhance the health, wellbeing, and cultural safety of diverse communities, addressing Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence (FDSV) by having inclusive dialogue with community and faith leaders as they have an important role in changing attitudes, and cultural beliefs within their communities to prevent FDSV, and in responding when an admission of FDSV is voiced.
The TECS Project will entail 24 consultations (community conversations) around the country with people with lived experience, service providers, and community and faith leaders from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds between October 2024 and February 2025. This will be followed by more targeted co-design workshops with community and subject-matter experts between February 2025 and July 2025. Organisations and community/faith leaders can choose to participate in the consultations or the codesign workshops or both.
