Strategies for Clinical Improvement and Learning (SCIL) a Framework for Delivering Clinical Supervision in Behaviour Support

ACRRE has developed a framework for the delivery of robust, evidence-based supervision. The SCIL framework will enable practitioners to create a defined learning pathway that will support them to demonstrate skills, knowledge and understanding relative to the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework (20024). The capability framework is a recognised by the NDIS as being key to ensuring the delivery of best practice, in positive behaviour support by practitioners working within the NDIS.

The SCIL framework doesn’t direct practitioners to use a particular model or approach but offers a menu of clinical supervision models which can be incorporated to suit personal style, interests and approaches. To that end the SCIL model of supervision supports supervisors and supervisees to develop their understanding of a broad range of supervision models and provides a framework in which they can be used. Evidence based supervision is most effective when is focusses on the professional development needs of the supervisee regardless of what model or approach is utilised and is delivered by a supervisor with appropriate skills and knowledge in the delivery of supervision (Snowdon et al 2020, ACSQHC 2021).

Attendance at this training will provide a suite of tools for you to use and increase your knowledge about the delivery of evidence based robust clinical supervision. Delivered over four 2.5hour virtual sessions:
