Trans Awareness Week: Community Family Picnic
Event description
It's Trans Awareness Week!
Trans Awareness Week is a week when transgender people and their allies take action to bring attention to the trans community by educating the public about who transgender people are, sharing stories and experiences, and advancing advocacy around issues of prejudice, discrimination, and violence that affect the transgender community.
To celebrate our growing community bonds, AGA is holding a Community Family Picnic for TGDI+ people and their loved ones.
This community has been AGA's own found family, and we are so grateful for all of your love and support.
We encourage you to bring your found family, loved ones, and other important people in your lives.
On the day we will have photographer Nathan Lester attend the picnic to take some lovely photos of people. Some of these photos may be used for promotional material, annual reports, and other documents from time to time. You will receive a media consent form to be filled out if you would like to consent to your photos being taken. If this is not something you'd like to consent to then that is absolutely fine and we will ensure that no photos are taken of you.
Come along for a spring picnic with lunch, snacks, outdoor games, and our wonderful community!
---
We encourage all who come to events wear a facemask and are double vaccinated (and where possible have received your booster shot) unless you have a medical exemption.
Accessibility: AGA House is equipped with an accessible parking space, ramp entrance and an accessible bathroom. If you want to attend but are unsure if this event is accessible to you, please contact us at the contact details below
