Transfolk WA Community Tie-Dye Day

About this event

Get ready to unleash your creativity and show your support for the trans community at our Tie-Dye for Trans Visibility event! Join us for a fun-filled day of colour and community as we create unique tie-dyed masterpieces. Whether you are trans, gender diverse or an ally, anyone of all ages is welcome to attend!

Where will it be held?

The event will be held at Perth Innercity Youth Service (PICYS) at 22 Blencowe St, West Leederville WA 6007 on Whadjuk Noongar country. Free street parking is available on weekends on Cambridge St and Railway parade.

What to bring

Please bring:

1. One item to tie-dye per ticket (t-shirts, tote bags, pillowcases are excellent options)
2. One plastic bag or large zip-lock bag to carry your wet tie-dye item home

For best results items should be:

• white or neutral colour; and
• made from cotton or other natural fibres

What we provide

We'll provide all the dyes, gloves, and instructions you need to create your tie-dye masterpiece. We'll also have a limited number of plain white t-shirts available for a donation on the day.

Important information

• Registrations are essential as space is limited- please only register for one time slot
• Transfolk WA peer support volunteers will be available on the day if you'd like to chat to someone
• The building is wheelchair accessible via ramp
• The narrowest entry width is 78cm
• Accessible and all gender toilets are available
• The building is temperature controlled (heating and air conditioning)
• There are quiet spaces available if you need to take a break
  

Why we're doing this

This event is a chance for us to come together as a community and show our support for trans visibility. By wearing our colourful creations, we can help spread awareness and celebrate the diversity of our community.
