Transformation of Central Melbourne—Summer Fun(draisers)

Join us on a walking tour led by Rob Adams AM, ex-City Designer for the City of Melbourne, covering the key initiatives that have seen central Melbourne's transformation since the 1980s to one of the world's most liveable and sustainable cities.

The tour will illustrate the incremental changes and projects that have allowed the city to deliver the five key ingredients of a good city: density, mixed use, connectivity, high quality public realm and local character.

These intimate, limited capacity talks + tours will take you up close and behind-the-scenes with design experts, all the while making a valued contribution to Open House Melbourne.

Please note:

• This will be a guided tour of up to seven kilometres using individual headsets and utilising a combination of walking and trams.

• You should be able to walk at a reasonable pace and have a reasonable level of fitness as the area to be covered will require us to keep moving with only short stops at key sites.

• There will be a toilet break halfway.

• This tour is an all weather event. Please come prepared for the weather and wearing comfortable shoes.
