Guest Speaker - Glenn "Cooky" Cook - Growing Locals and the Eric Singleton Wetlands
After reading the book “Growing Locals: Gardening with Local Plants in Perth” by Robert Powell & Jane Emberson”, Glenn Cook (Cooky), a meteorologist by trade and long time conservationist, became passionate about growing locals and regenerating landscapes. He is the President of the Perth Branch of The Wildflower Society, Coordinator of Friends of Eric Singleton Wetlands and is on the Management Committee of Environment House in Bayswater. His interest in conservation extends to the wheatbelt with the Mt Mackie regeneration project near York. On Wednesdays you can find him at the Perth Herbarium identifying rare plants.
