Transition Town Vincent Movie Night - The Gig is Up

Worldwide, there are over 100 million workers in the platform economy. And yet the stories of the workers behind this tech revolution have gone largely neglected. 📱🛵🛒

From delivering food and driving ride shares to tagging images for AI, millions of people around the world are finding work task by task online. The gig economy is worth over 5 trillion USD globally, and growing. This 2021 film uncovers the real costs of the platform economy through the lives of people working for companies around the world, including Uber, Amazon, and Deliveroo.

Event Details

The film starts at 6.30pm sharp. Please arrive by 6.15pm if possible.

Alcohol is available for purchase at the bar. There will be free popcorn thanks to The Source at The Mezz and free bakery items thanks to Dejaxo Bakery. You can also BYO snacks.

Children are welcome to attend if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

No need to print your ticket.
