Be part of the community-led change towards a more sustainable life by joining Transition Town Vincent (TTV).
TTV is a not-for-profit, non-political community group aligned with the world-wide Transition Town movement, which assists communities to transition to a more sustainable and resilient way of life.
Our vision is:
“Strengthening our local community connections and empowering people to tread lightly on the earth.”
Membership of TTV is made up of a diverse group of people who want to keep our community strong and connected to achieve our broad sustainability goals. We are based in the inner city municipality of the City of Vincent, Western Australia but we have many members from adjacent areas.
By joining TTV you will gain access to the latest news, grants, events and support as well as the opportunity to meet new people in your local community.
We welcome people who share our vision and who can contribute in any manner whether to participate in activities, volunteer, donate or initiate and lead projects. Becoming a member is free and you get to join a bunch of wonderful people making a difference in small and big ways in their local community.

INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS
If your application is accepted, your name and address, as provided above, must be recorded in a register of members and be made available to other members, upon request, under section 53 of the Associations Incorporation Act 2015.
If the obligations under the Associations Incorporation Act are not complied with the Association can be wound up.

You can access or correct personal information (your name and address) by contacting the Association as indicated above.
OTHER INFORMATION
If your application is accepted you are entitled to inspect and make a copy of the register of members under section 54 of the Associations Incorporation Act 2015.
If your application is accepted you will receive a copy of the rules (constitution) of the association under section 36 of the Associations Incorporation Act 2015.
If your application for membership is rejected by the Committee: You may give notice of your intention to appeal within 14 days of being advised of the rejection (rule 5(4)). The Association in a general meeting, no later than the next annual general meeting, must confirm or set aside the decision of the Committee rejecting your application, after giving you a reasonable opportunity to be heard or to make written representations to the general meeting (rule 5(5)).

To encourage the development of interest groups to research and focus on specific topics
To listen to, learn from and address community concerns about sustainability issues
To encourage and support transition to a resilient and sustainable future for the City of Vincent
To connect with other transition initiatives and existing groups which work towards increasing local sustainability and resilience
To raise awareness of the international transition movement as a positive alternative to “business as usual”
To support and encourage local community action on the reduction use of fossil fuels, mitigation of, and adaption to, climate change and related threats to our local and global environment.
