Thu, 12 Jun, 11pm - 13 Jun, 12am EDT

Event description

Join us to hear Gerard Reinmuth, Professor of Practice at UTS and Director at Terroir, to hear about the Australian Reduction Roadmap.

The Reduction Roadmap is an Australian edition of the original, produced in Denmark in 2020, and which has now been updated and folded into a new piece of work, Beyond the Roadmap.

By linking future building emissions to carbon budgets required to minimise Global Warming, the Reduction Roadmap provides a stark picture of the extent to which the construction industry should change in the near future if we are to meet these targets.

The impact of the original Reduction Roadmap and its clear communication was significant, including a role in the revision of new carbon limits in Danish Building legislation enacted last year.  Our hope is that the Australian Reduction Roadmap, based on local industry emissions and targets, will have a similar impact on the discussion here and also add to a growing movement for legislative change.

The event will run via Zoom on Friday 13 June from 1-2pm AEST. The presentation will be 30 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of unrecorded Q&A to create a safe space for discussion.

Architects Declare are committed to equity and diversity in design - stay tuned for a line up of multi-disciplinary speakers, with a monthly Friday talk to unpack solutions for transitioning to a net zero future.
