Event description

Join us for this innovative workshop where creativity meets sustainability, and every child can be a puppeteer for the planet.

Under the guidance of our Trash Puppet Leaders, kids will create one-of-a-kind puppets without the need for glue or paint. Through this artistic process, they’ll learn about waste reduction, recycling, and be inspired to see everyday household rubbish in a whole new light. Get creative and learn about sustainability!

This event is designed for children aged 5 - 12 Years Old.

This event is part of Children’s Week 2024, a celebration of the rights of children's talents, skills, achievements and rights. The theme of this year’s Children’s Week focuses on the importance of sustainability and environmental education for young minds - "Children have the right to a clean and safe environment".

In partnership with Trash Puppets and the State Government of Victoria, this workshop aims to empower children to become environmental stewards. By participating, kids will not only have fun but also gain valuable insights into how they can contribute to a more sustainable future.

This event will be held on the lands of the Bunurong People of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the lands, rivers and coastal areas in Hobsons Bay. We recognise the First Peoples’ relationship to this land and offer our respect to their Elders past and present.
