This 3-hour workshop provides foundation knowledge in the neuroscience of challenging behaviour; key concepts in trauma informed care, as well as practical strategies to support well-being and development.
Learning goals:
- What is trauma, the different types of trauma and its impact on developing children’s brains and their behaviour.
- Develop knowledge and understanding to build confidence and capacity to support children impacted by trauma.
- Verbal and non-verbal strategies to promote secure attachment, emotional regulation, and a sense of safety.
For teachers, this course is NESA Accredited aligns with the Professional Standards 1.1.2 and 4.1.2 at a Proficient Teacher Level.
