Trauma Informed Preaching: Words that bring life
Description
Trauma Informed Preaching: Words that Bring Life
This panel will explore how preaching can support safety and healing in the context of domestic and family violence. Preaching on topics such as power, relationships, divorce, and forgiveness requires wisdom and care. Panellists will discuss practical guidance for messaging, including what to avoid and what to include when preaching on this topic. They will also highlight key principles relevant to any preaching in trauma-affected congregations. Grounded in trauma-informed practice, this session will equip preachers to communicate in ways that prioritise safety, avoid re-traumatisation, and proclaim the gospel as genuinely good news for all. |
Presenters for this webinar are
Anglican Clergy Rev'd Alex Zunica, Rev'd Ali McGrice, Rev'd Tracy Lauersen and Clinical and Mental Health Social Worker Katherine Thompson.
