Join us for the first event in the series: Understanding Trauma & Resilience: Lessons from the Israeli Experience, featuring Dr Danny Brom in conversation with counselling psychologist and clinical supervisor Rina Taub.

Drawing on decades of clinical, academic and community-based work, Dr Brom will explore how trauma impacts individuals, families and communities — and what the Israeli experience can teach us about resilience, recovery and models of care. This timely discussion will examine practical approaches to supporting traumatised populations and bridging the gap between research and real-world service delivery.

Since October 7, Israel has faced unprecedented national trauma, prompting rapid innovation in research and treatment. Drawing on decades of experience, Dr Brom will explore how trauma affects individuals, families and communities, and how newly developed early-intervention models, expanded trauma-focused therapies, digital care platforms and specialised programs for veterans and displaced families are reshaping mental health response.

This timely discussion will focus on practical strategies for strengthening resilience and translating research into effective, community-based care.

Dr Danny Brom, Ph.D. is the Founding Director of Metiv – the Israel Psychotrauma Center in Jerusalem and a former Associate Professor at the Hebrew University. Since October 7, Metiv has been at the forefront of Israel’s emergency mental health response, training clinicians nationwide and advancing innovative trauma treatment models.

Rina Taub is a Sydney-based counselling psychologist and clinical supervisor, bringing deep clinical insight and practical expertise to this important conversation.
