Tree Planting next to Giant Gippsland Earthworm colony
Event description
Save our threatened species! Plant trees as part of a project to help Giant Gippsland Earthworm colonies.
Join Landcare and Gippsland Threatened Species Action Group at this tree planting field day which aims to put indigenous species back into these steep gullies, next to where the threatened earthworms can be found. This is a modified planting method which plants next to (not on top of) the GGE colonies, to avoid the risk of drying out the soil where GGEs are found.
Please note this planting site is uneven, steep and may be slippery. A moderate level of fitness is required.
If you are looking for a planting day for small children our Pedal and Plant event will be a lot more suitable :)
Morning tea will be provided.
Please note there is no toilets on site. The site is at Ranceby, 5min north of Korumburra. The address will be sent closer to the time.
