Community Tree Planting Day
Event description
Join us as we celebrate National Tree Day 2025!
Help us plant 1000 trees to restore the flood-damaged riverbank at Byangum and bring back important vegetation to the area.
This free, family-friendly event is perfect for all ages – bring the kids and make it a fun day out while helping the environment!
Why it matters
The planting will improve the condition of the Tweed River bank and waterway health. This site is part of our region's drinking water supply, so planting trees will help protect water quality, reduce erosion during floods, and create more habitat for wildlife.
What to bring
Gloves, shovel, mulch fork, good footwear, hat and bucket to help with the planting otherwise you can use ours.
Picnic blanket or chairs to enjoy the scenery while you rest and have refreshments.
Food you’d like to share.
